Hi Fashionable Surfers! I'm in the middle leg of my tour around the world's major fashion cities. Having lived in New York and visited Paris, London, and Hong Kong, I have unpacked my bags here in Tokyo.   • FASHION
    I'm not Japanese but since I'm in Japan I might as well collect some info on the Japan fashion scene. This is ongoing... please check back often for the latest news and links on cool Japanese sites.
  • CULTURE
    Of course Japan has a culture all its own, but also evident is the internationalization that has been going on the last few decades. Thus sprung a whole new subculture--a unique blend of east and west.
  • SEX
    I am neither a fan nor opponent of pornography. It exists on a massive scale here in Tokyo. I am casually (for now--I would like to spend more time on this when I can spare it) investigating the sex scene here as it relates to fashion. Specifically, a lot of young girls have taken up prostitution not for the commonly-heard reasons of saving up for a better life but for immediate gratification in the form of using the money to buy brand-name clothes and accessories. Any contributions to my research would be greatly appreciated.
